PARTICIPATION MAKES ALL THE DIFFERENCE

We don’t just show up with a camera—we draw from visual ethnography, participatory research, and community building methods to co-create visuals that tell the story better.

WHAT WE MEAN BY VIz RESEARCH

Visual research is the practice of using photography and other visual tools to surface stories, insights, and patterns that might otherwise go unnoticed.

At In Good Company, this means collaborating with organizations to document lived experience, community perspectives, and on-the-ground realities in ways that support learning, reflection, and impact.

IMAGES ARE DATA

We treat images not as decoration, but as data—a way to shift the gaze, empower those most affected, and build a shared visual language for the work.

This visual data shows up powerfully in campaigns, yes! But it also helps build archives, illustrate oral histories, inform board presentations, illuminate strategic plans, and convey knowledge that doesn’t always surface in other ways.
